WIT: Untraditional Paths to Tech Panel

June 13, 2019 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm CDT

Join us in the CoxHealth room for a panel discussion surrounding breaking into tech without a CS degree.

Panelists include:
*** Myke Bates – Myke is the co-founder and CTO of Hearo Technologies, a conference speaker, and founder of the SGF Web Devs group. With over a decade of experience, his work spans from brands you see in your local grocery store to video chat apps and a movie quoting mobile app. Located in Springfield, MO, he is hellbent on fostering the local development community and shining a national spotlight on the region’s talent.
*** Aimee Hendrycks, Senior Engineer @ Mostly Serious – After picking up coding as a hobby in her free time, Aimee opted to forego college, instead attending a coding course that offered an accelerated path to the industry. With this quick start, Aimee has been developing with the team at Mostly Serious since 2016
*** Pam Montanez, UI/UX Software Developer @ O’Reilly – Pamela began with a degree in Film and Digital Arts, started working as a Marketing Assistant, Coordinator, then Manager, moved into Web Design, and is now a UI/UX Software Developer. Her career has been quite a journey, but she’s found her niche in technology and development. For fun, Pamela enjoys learning (always and forever), cooking, and playing games with friends.
*** Jordan McAdoo, Software Engineer @ Stitch Fix – Jordan graduated with a degree in animation and quickly decided it wasn’t the career for her. She worked from help desk, to QA, and finally landed her dream job in software development. She’s currently helping make your favorite personal styling iOS app and organizing local tech events (like this one!).

Food and drinks will be provided by our sponsors, Gravitate Solutions and World Wide Technology.

This event is open to all.
