With the rapid impact of technology on businesses, IT risks are constantly evolving, and companies are faced with challenges due to resource and budget constraints. Chris Bruhn and Brian Howell will present some useful insights and real world examples to help you better manage and assess risks including:
* Framework selection to optimize IT risk management and oversight
* Risk assessment activities and outputs * Control design and implementation
* Control testing and validation
* Reporting on the status of risks and controls within the environment
Chris has more than 14 years of experience providing audit and accounting services. His experience has focused on risk management services across multiple industries. He focuses on System and Organization Controls (SOC) engagements but also performs information technology assurance for financial statement audits, third-party vendor risk management, information security risk management, and business process reviews. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and Missouri Society of CPAs; a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and Certified Information Technology Professional (CITP); and he is a 2004 graduate of the University of Missouri, Columbia, with a B.S. degree in accounting and an M.Acc. degree.
Brian is a business and technology risk advisor with 20 years of experience in various risk management, audit and business development roles. His experience includes serving large and complex clients within financial service, telecom, healthcare, and professional service verticals. He focuses on helping business leaders assess and address their cyber security risk through a fractional CISO service model, but also serves clients through business process reviews, ITGC development and testing, and other risk management projects. Brian is a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA). Brian served as a Director for the Kansas City ISACA chapter from 2014 – 2019. He is a 1999 graduate of Kansas State University with a B.S. degree in Management with an emphasis in Information Systems.
